From Kundalini Activation to Orgasmic Awareness – A Tantric Approach to Pleasure

Podcast E44 Kundalini Activation, Pleasure, and the Power of Presence: Exploring Tantra with Fernanda Zorzo

Beyond the Myth: The Truth About the Tantric Orgasm

When people hear “Tantra,” their minds often jump straight to the idea of Tantric orgasm.

In this podcast episode I had the pleasure of discussing Kundalini Activation and Tantric orgasms with an experienced certified expert in this area.

When asked if Tantra is all about orgasms, Tantric therapist, Fernanda Zorzo, laughs gently at this stereotype – but she also honours the curiosity behind it.

Her own introduction to Tantra began with a personal goal: wanting to know how to experience squirting! She achieved it, but discovered that the real transformation wasn’t about the physical result. What truly changed her life was discovering the plateau orgasm – a sustained, full-body state of pleasure and presence that can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.

Everyone can have a Tantric orgasm, but it takes time and practice to get it.

In Tantra, orgasm is not an end goal. It’s an experience of being fully alive, of merging breath, sound, and movement in the present moment. True Tantric pleasure is about inhabiting your body with reverence, curiosity, and joy – and recognising that your entire being, not just your genitals, is capable of ecstasy.

Today, Fernanda is the creator of What the Heaven is Tantra, a transformative approach that blends Taoist Tantra with modern therapeutic insights. Her work makes the ancient art of Tantra accessible, safe, and deeply healing for modern seekers.

Tantra as Therapy: Healing Through Pleasure

In the early years of her career, Fernanda focused mainly on women’s healing groups, exploring the body as a gateway to emotional freedom. Working alongside psychologists in Brazil, she helped clients facing challenges like sexual dysfunctions and porn addiction, seeing profound results in just a few sessions.

Why? Because Tantra moves beyond the mind. It’s not about analyzing — it’s about feeling.

Fernanda describes Tantra as “allowing pleasure in all areas of life.” Pleasure, in her view, is not a distraction from healing – it is healing. The more we allow ourselves to experience pleasure, the more we reconnect to our natural vitality and joy. For many women, she says, reclaiming sensual pleasure becomes a pathway to overcoming anxiety and depression.

The Three Keys of Tantra: Breath, Movement, and Sound

At the heart of Fernanda’s teaching lies simplicity. Tantra, she says, is not about complicated rituals or secret techniques — it’s about being present.

The three core pillars she returns to are:

  • Breath – your connection to life force.
  • Movement – the bridge between stillness and flow.
  • Sound – the vibration that opens your inner energy.

Together, these three awaken the body’s natural intelligence and release the shame or conditioning that keeps pleasure limited.

Tantric texts like the Tantrāloka remind us to honour the body and even the sexual fluids as sacred – not as something dirty or hidden, but as divine expressions of life itself.

Kundalini Activation: Awakening the Energy Within

One of the most fascinating parts of our conversation was Fernanda’s work with Kundalini Activation – a practice that allows people to safely experience energy awakening without the intensity or risk sometimes associated with traditional methods.

In her sessions, participants lie down fully clothed and blindfolded while music helps raise the energetic vibration. What follows can be spontaneous – movements, emotional releases, or waves of pleasure. Yet, as Fernanda emphasises, the real activation is internal.

Kundalini, she explains, is like a sleeping serpent of energy coiled in the hips, waiting to rise up through the central channel (sushumna). When awakened, it restores the natural, fearless flow of energy we all had as children — before social conditioning created blockages.

Crying is common; sometimes an orgasmic release occurs, but the essence is always about reconnection, not performance.

As Fernanda puts it: “It’s not about doing; it’s about allowing.”

Everyday Tantra: Simple Practices for Daily Life

Fernanda believes Tantra belongs not only in workshops or temples but in everyday life. She shared a few simple practices anyone can try:

For couples: Use a blindfold during a massage or intimate play to heighten the sense of touch and presence.

For women: Transform your shower into a ritual — feel the water, then slowly apply lotion to your body, exploring new areas of pleasure and appreciation.

For men: Before intimacy, practice **square breathing** — inhaling for four counts, holding, exhaling for four, and holding again. This simple breath can anchor you into presence and expand pleasure beyond the genitals.

Each of these small steps is a way of **awakening Kundalini energy** and deepening your connection with pleasure, body, and spirit.

Tantra for Happiness

In her recent work, Fernanda calls this evolution of her teaching “Tantra for Happiness.” It’s about moving beyond healing into joy – about seeing pleasure as a spiritual practice in itself.

Tantra teaches us that to be spiritual is to be fully human – embracing every sensation, emotion, and desire as sacred.

As Fernanda reminds us, “Pleasure is the gateway to presence.”
